It is an absolute privilege to get to photograph babies & children. They are perfect just as they are and don’t need much to add to.
Because of this I photograph them in a very simple style.
Your baby is my guide for the session and my approach is baby-led, allowing them to be themselves and comfortable paying, laughing and having fun!
Baby & sitter sessions
The sessions are for Parents who wish to capture the moment in time with elegant images in simple and natural style.
It is all about the baby and you all together reaching this milestone enhancing the natural moments of play in the process that is bespoke to your little one.
child photography
These are sessions that portrait your children at any desired point in time and are suitable for children of any age. Typically we book a children photography a birthday portrait (for two year old’s and over), a sport portrait, a dance portrait, a sibling portraits, cousins and friends portraits, first day of school portrait, half birthday portrait session and more.
They are all incredibly natural, fun and super relaxed.
So how does the session work?...
I like to keep things super relaxed, pretty much like a very fun play date.
So with small babies we singing, we clap, maybe even bubbles and your baby can take their pick from the toys that I have in the studio. Babies always love this bit and we get some fantastic photos while they play and have a whale of a time. All the while I snap away, capturing every giggle and smile and their sweet little personality.
Go with the flow
Every baby is different.
- Some want to snuggle for a while.
- Some are super excited & dive straight into the toys.
- Some love to be naked, or in a nappy.
- Some are super speedy, crawling.
- Some are happy to sit & play.
& whatever they fancy doing on the day, it always works perfectly.
Memories that matter
Photography gives us the chance to capture those perfect fleeting moments to treasure forever.
These images should be displayed in your home as a wonderful reminder of how small they once were, but planning, printing and organising photos is a challenge, especially with little feet running around.
That's why your session includes beautiful wooden frame print featuring an image from your baby’s session. Here is an example of an image in exact frame. It is simply beautiful.

session time & duration
These sessions take approximately 60 mins and are shot in the mornings in studio.
can i book for the session at the weekend?
Weekend sessions can be arranged on request. Normally this is the time I spent with my own little family, however I understand that taking a day off during the week for your session is not always possible. Saturday sessions are subject to an additional fee of $100 and availability. They are booked for either 11am or 1pm

Your baby and your family are my number one priority
when to book
I suggest to contact me as soon as possible because I take limited number of clients each month. Ideally plan for your session 2 months in advance. I can on occasions accomodate last minute enquiries - these are however not guaranteed
What do we do if my baby is unwell?
I take all the precautions to limit any risk of spreading infections, especially that many of my clients are newborn babies arriving to studio at just few days old. Please notify me as soon as there is a suspicion that your baby might feel unwell. If your baby presents as unwell on the day of the shoot, we will also need to reschedule. We will reschedule your session for a new session spot at a later stage or as close to the original date as possible!
TURN-A-ROUND TIME
My turn-a-round time for delivery of your gallery (via online gallery) is approximately four weeks. I always edit in the order that I shoot, so that its fair and reasonable for everybody that books me. Out of respect for this, I can’t edit “one or two” images and send to you in the event of a special occasion (birthday, mother’s day, Christmas etc)
how young should my baby be for the session?
Most common time is around the 7 months mark, but this is just a rough guide (once baby can sit unassisted is when the typical sitter session takes place).
Memories of earlier months can also be captured at baby’s 4th and 9th month.
what do i bring and what do i wear?
The ‘what to wear’ inspiration and all other session information will be sent to those who book!
booking and payments
Payment of a $100 deposit (deducted from the total session fee), secures your session with THE FITZROYS PHOTOGRAPHY. Deposit is non-refundable. Your session fee balance is due on the day of your shoot
To confirm your booking this deposit must be paid and the online contract e-signed
can parents be in the photos?
Please note that Baby session is designed to focus on baby with specifically allocated shooting time.
Please consider booking a FAMILY session with longer shooting time to accomodate three and more family members.
can i bring more children to be in the images?
For additional siblings the same age (twins, triplets) please add $100/child
